We love honey bees and we try to save them every chance we get. Live bee removal is offered in most cities that we service. We also understand that because of their size, they often times get into those little areas that are nearly impossible to reach let alone remove the bee hive alive. When we send out a bee removal specialist, he will do his best to properly solve your bee hive problem.

Each and every one of our bee guys has been trained by the best and has gained much knowledge by personal experience. Our favorite bee call is when someone has a swarm of bees on their property. The bees will either group up on a tree branch, bush or just attach themselves under the eave of a house. We remove these bees carefully by either vacuuming them up with a bee vac or simply shaking them into a bee box.

The bees are then transferred to our own bee apiary or to another local beekeeper. Bee removal is what we do. When you call us about your bee problem, you will be speaking with a bee profesional. We will remove your bees the very same day that you call.

Bee Swarm Removal

When spring arrives, the honey bee started to prepare to swarm. Many of us have seen a bee swarm while traveling or looking for a new home. It looks like a cloud of bees moving across the sky. Right before the hive splits off, the queen will lay eggs into queen cups which are made especially for queen eggs. The hive then swarms and soon afterwards, within a few days, the original hive will have multiple queens hatching out.

Each queen immediately upon hatching out will look for any other queen in the hive and they will have a fight to the death. Which ever queen is left standing is then crowned queen. She will be the new queen of the hive from then on. She then will leave the hive and mate with 15 to 20 drones. This will be the only time in her life that she will mate.

The drones are the male bees of the hive that only have one purpose in life and that is to mate once and die. They can not feed themselves, they do not work and they can not sting. Throughout the year they just take up space. They are all kicked out of the hive to die once winter approaches.

The now mated queen will spend the rest of her life laying eggs. A queen bee can lay up to 2,000 eggs per day if given the room. The queen and the drone can not feed themselves. The worker bees which are all female feed her and the drones.

The worker bees life span is only about 4 weeks long. These are the ones with the stingers that many of us have felt. During the winter they can live up to 9 months. The duties of a worker bee is to pretty much do everything. They build the hive, protect it from danger, insulate it with propolis, gather food and water, feed the larva, and they make the honey.

Bees are a very beneficial insect. Bees pollinate the farmers crops to help provide food for us. The honey that bees make is not just good tasting, it’s also good for allergies. Many people throughout the world have even used the honey bees venom for healing.

Bees start swarming in order to reproduce and start a new hive. This will result in a significant depletion of the old hive. To beekeepers, this can ruin a whole season’s production of honey.

Be wary of bee swarms mostly because bees will swarm close to their hive. While bees are typically very unaggressive during this time, they will defend the hive if threatened. Bees are usually too focused on finding another location for a hive to be aggressive towards intruders.

Swarms are most prominent in the spring time and will take place over a series of swarms. The first swarm is always the biggest and is followed by four to six much smaller swarms.

Bee swarms consist of all levels of the bee hierarchy including queens, worker bees, scout bees, and drones. They can have only a couple thousand bees up to over 30,000 bees in a single swarm.

While the previous information is very reliable in reference to honey bees, Africanized bees or killer bees are a completely different story. Killer bees tend to swarm much more often and for various reasons. Africanized bee colonies will swarm anytime food is scarce in the surrounding environment.

However, Africanized bees will also swarm while protecting their nest. This poses a much more serious threat to intruders than the honey bees present. More bees will be attacking the creature or human in a much more aggressive fashion. Also, killer bee swarms will chase any intruders for over a mile away from the nest.

If you see a swarm, contact us immediately and keep an eye on the swarm. It may move soon into your home or nearby homes. Our beekeepers will be able to capture and remove the swarm. In the meantime, continue to monitor the swarm. If the bees remain in your location, contact Bee Safe for bee removal done right and done fast.

Contact Bee Safe Bee Removal Specialists. With a drastic decline in the population of honey bees, this will preserve the bee population and solve your problem.

Identify the bees. Make sure you are dealing with bees in the first place. Hornets, Wasps, and Yellow Jackets all have similar markings to bees. While hornets and yellow jackets can be dealt with on a one-to-one basis, bees and wasps will require removing the beehive or nest. In addition, if you are dealing with Africanized (killer) bees, it is strongly advised that you contact professionals.

Locate the bee hive. The best time to do this is when the sun is setting or rising. This will not only help you see the bees, but bees will often swarm around the nest before flying off to find food.

Killing bees in the sidings of buildings. While this is not an extra step, it should be noted that in order to kill bees that have built a nest in the walls of building, it is recommended that you use a powder-based insecticide instead. Spray may not reach the inside of the nest completely. By using a powder-based insecticide, the bees will track in the powder and spread it throughout the entire colony.

Repeat spraying the bees. You should continue to spray the nest until all bees are dead. This step may take a few days to kill all of the bees.

Remove the bee hive. To ensure that the nest is not repopulated with bees again. Remove the nest. If the nest is in a tree, simply knock it down. Nests located in the ground should be filed in and covered with dirt. For nests that are in the side of buildings or other similar places, you should contact a professional to remove the nest completely.

If you have a bee hive on your property, you should contact Bee Safe today. Do not risk you or your family being stung. In some cases, bees will chase down intruders, leaving an unsafe environment around your house. Bee Safe will remove the bees and the bee hive, giving you a safe backyard to play or work in.

While both man-made and naturally occurring structures can be called a bee hive, typically naturally occurring bee hives are called nests. Bees use bee hives to store food and eggs, raise larva, and they live in it at nights since bees are less active at night.

The bee hive consists of wall after wall of honeycomb that has many sockets in it. These sockets are used to store food and their young. The nests usually only have one hole that points downward that acts as a door for bees leaving and entering the bee hive.

It is important to remove the bee hive in order to solve your bee problem completely. Not only can bees reproduce at the bee hive, but bees can return and reuse the bee hive even if you kill all of its prior inhabitants. Also, bees will defend their bee hive and attack anything they deem as intruders. This could present a great danger to you if a bee hive is in an inconvenient location.
Can you save Africanized or hybrid bees?

Yes, we can save an africanized bee hive, but only under certain conditions. In the city it would be way to dangerous to remove Africanized bees alive. When these types of bees get mad they don’t just attack the nearest bystander and stop, they will attack everything in the neighborhood, including kids, dogs, cats, birds, etc. They are vicious when they get disturbed. So when there is an area with enough open land around, africanized bees can be removed alive, but only if conditions are safe.

After transporting the hive to a remote area we can change them into a European bee hive. There are not many beekeepers that actually want to have an africanized or hybrid bee hive in their bee yard. But the amazing thing about honeybees, is that we can re-queen it. This means replacing the Africanized queen with a European queen bee. Within four months the very aggresive africanized hive will turn into a sweet, dosile European honeybee hive. This is the only way that a Beekeeper will actually be willing to come out and remove your killer bee hive alive.
Can you get rid of bees in an owl box or bird house?

The best way to solve your owl box or bird house bee problem is to actually get it removed from your property, box in all. We have found with experience that if you remove the bees and leave the original box intact, a new swarm of bees will move into it the same year or by the next swarming season.

The reason why this happens is, if you just get rid of the bees, the box will retain a residual pheromone smell of the previous bee hive. When a bee swarm moves into a certain location, they cover the entire box or entrance with their pheromone. This is one way they claim their territory. This smell also helps the field bees which are returning from pollinating and collecting nectar to identify which bee hive is theirs. The bee pheromone will also attract every bee in a mile radius to check out your previously inhabited bee box.

Each hive of bees has guard bees, which serve as the protectors of the hive at the entrance. These bees will ward off any foreign bee or insect trying to get inside in order to rob some honey. Now, if there are no bees to protect the box, any bee in the neighborhood could come in and rob the honey. Some bees might be looking for food, others will be looking for a new home.

Some home owners try to first, remove the bees and then sanitize the box with different chemicals, which could hide the pheromone scent. I say, why go through all of this trouble to remove the bees from the box, then take it down, then clean it, just to get a new swarm moving into it next year. We recommend just buying or making a new box that will not have the honey bee pheromone smell all over it, which will cut down on attracting every bee in the area to check out your property.

We at Bee Safe Bee Removal Specialist love to pick up bird houses and owl boxes that are inhabited with honey bees. We are beekeepers and we try to save every bee hive we can. When you don’t have to kill the bees, why kill them? Please give us a call and we will help solve your bee infestation, offering same day service.

Contact Bee Safe if you need a bee hive removed in any of our Service Areas including: California, Florida, Texas, or Arizona

Colorado Springs Bee Removal

When looking for the right Colorado Springs Bee Removal Company, always ask the bee removal service if they are beekeepers. That’s one way of finding out if they really know something about bees and if they really care about their survival. We are beekeepers, and we have been for over 30 years. Bee Safe Bee Removal Specialist started out as a beekeeping company and then graduated into offering other services.

We now remove yellow jackets, wasp, cicada killers, hornets of all types, bumble bees, bee control and of course bee hive removal and swarm removal. Usually the reason why most people will call a Colorado Springs bee company first after discovering their stinging insect problem is because they don’t have an extra bee suit laying around the house.

Bees act as their very own AC system. They use their wings to keep the honeycomb at a cool 94° degrees while the temperature outside may be 110°. We know how to get rid of bees humanly, and there is more to removing bees and wasp than just a bee suit and a can of wasp killer. We have learned to remove a bee hive alive without having to ever use any chemicals.

It’s a really great feeling when you open up someone’s house and find a massive bee hive inside working away to make its sweet honey. The honey is usually what we call, “Our Bonus”. We enjoy relocating swarms to our bee yards in Colorado Springs. To us, each swarm of honey bees, is like a wild animal. The difference with trapping bees verses wild animals is, we actually take the bees back to our property and give them a new home. We build our own bee boxes and frames. We like to keep twenty or more empty boxes available at all times for new arriving swarms.

Some days we can pick up three to four bee swarms in a single afternoon. We use several different locations around Colorado Springs as our apiary. On a daily basis during the swarming season, we will pick up swarms of honey bees and drop them off at one of our apiaries, usually at the location that is closer. Finding the queen is almost impossible when the bees are grouped up in a ball shaped figure. After we place a swarm into a bee box full of frames, we then search for her and find her. For some reason, this is one of my favorite little things to do when working with the bees.

Bee Removal in Colorado Springs is a specialty business. Here in Colorado Springs you won’t find a lot of pest control companies offering bee removal. Many people don’t want to get into a profession where part of the job is getting stung on a daily basis. We cover the entire Colorado Springs area. Here in Colorado Springs, most homes are made with wood eaves. This is exactly what bees are looking for. The honey bees’ natural home is a hollowed out tree, which is wood. So they are naturally attracted to your wood eave or between the walls where they find a lot of wood.

In order to remove a bee hive from an eave or from between the floors of a house, you must first smoke the bees. This is the most important step to take in order to get the bees to calm down. The smoke covers the attack scent and also causes the honey bees to think that the bee hive is on fire. Instincts cause the honey bee to salvage as much honey as possible when the hive is on fire.

Once we get in there, we see most of the bees sucking up the honey as fast as they can. This makes our job much easier. While the bees are busy sucking down the honey, we start cutting out the wax combs and honey and place each section into the bee box. Now after all of the honey and hive has been scraped out and the cavity washed thoroughly, we will pack the cavity full of insulation. Our job is not finished until the house looks like it was never touched. Our highly skilled carpenters do all of the repair work and they seal all that was opened up. This really gives our customers peace of mind, so that they don’t have to look for a contractor who will hopefully do a good job. Bee Safe Bee Removal Specialist is the best choice when looking for a professional bee removal company to do the job right the first time.

Bee Safe Bee Removal Specialists is now serving Colorado Springs Colorado and surrounding areas, including:

Colorado Springs, Alta Vista,Black Forest, Broadmoor, Buttes, Calhan, Cascade, Chipita Park, Cimarron Hills, Colorado Springs, Duffield, Eastonville, Ellicott, Elsmere, Falcon, Fort Carson, Fountain, Glen Eyrie, Glen Park, Gleneagle, Henkel, Ivywild, Kelker, Knob Hill, La Foret, Manitou Springs, Midway, Minnehaha, Monument, Palmer lake, Papeton, Peyton, Pikeview, Pine Crest, Ramah, Rock Creek Pprk, Roswell, Rush, Security, Shirley, Skinners, Stratmoor, Stratmoor Hills, Stratton Meadows, Truckton, Widefield, Wigwam, Woodmoor, Yoder
